Dal 3 al 5 settembre 2026 si svolgerà a Rende presso il Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici dell’Università della Calabria (Via Ponte Pietro Bucci Cubo 28 B) il terzo convegno nazionale della Società Italiana di Storia Ambientale dal titolo Ambiente e storie. Dall’antichità ai giorni nostri.
Le proposte di panels, papers, posters dovrebbero riguardare titoli e contenuti delle tematiche più avanti indicate, con le tracce dei filoni di indagine scientifica da sviluppare nel corso del convegno.
I panel afferenti a ciascun filone tematico possono concentrarsi su qualsiasi ambito cronologico e avere carattere interdisciplinare, tenendo presente lo svolgimento storico dei fenomeni indagati.
Per il terzo convegno SISAm si è ritenuto opportuno aprire la partecipazione
anche a studiosi stranieri che possono proporre argomenti di studio relativi a contesti al di fuori dell’Italia.
I riferimenti cronologici per ogni tematica proposta sono da intendersi secondo termini ampi, dalla storia antica alla storia contemporanea.
Scadenze
Entro il 10 maggio il comitato scientifico comunicherà le proposte selezionate.
Entro il 15 maggio i proponenti selezionati dovranno comunicare la loro adesione.
Il programma definitivo sarà pubblicato entro il 1° agosto 2026.
Call for Papers, Panels, Posters
The third (inter-)national Conference of the Società Italiana di Storia Ambientale (SISAm) Environment and histories. From Antiquity to the present day will be held at the Department of Humanities at the University of Calabria (Via Ponte Pietro Bucci Cubo 28 B), Rende (Cosenza) from the 3rd to 5th September 2026.
Proposals for panels, papers, and posters should relate to the titles and contents of the topics in the following sections, which provide an outline of the research areas to be developed during the conference.
The panels of each thematic area may focus on any chronological period and be interdisciplinary in nature, bearing in mind the historical development of the phenomena under investigation.
The third SISAm conference is open to foreign scholars who can propose topics of study relating to contexts outside Italy.
The chronological span for each proposed topic is to be understood in broad terms, ranging from ancient to contemporary history.

Modalità di partecipazione
La richiesta di partecipazione potrà avvenire presentando proposte di Panel già strutturati, singoli contributi (Paper) e Poster..
Nello specifico:
- Le proposte di Panel già strutturati dovranno comprendere il nome e cognome del proponente, un titolo breve, un abstract di massimo 3000 battute che includa anche i contenuti dei singoli interventi, un minimo di tre e un massimo di quattro contributi con i titoli e i nominativi degli autori. La proposta dovrà comprendere il curriculum del proponente di massimo 1500 battute e le note biografiche di ciascuno dei partecipanti di massimo 500 battute. Nella domanda si dovrà indicare la congruenza del contributo proposto alle tematiche di ricerca suggerite dal comitato scientifico della SISAm, con il riferimento a due parole chiave e una specificazione cronologica. La SISAm individuerà un moderatore del panel. Il panel durerà 90 minuti con i tempi interni decisi dal proponente che dovrà comunque riservare almeno 30 minuti al dibattito.
- Nel caso di singoli contributi (Paper) la proposta dovrà contenere il nome e cognome del proponente con un breve curriculum di massimo 1000 battute, un titolo, un abstract di massimo 1000 battute. Nella domanda si dovrà indicare la congruenza del contributo proposto alle tematiche di ricerca suggerite dal comitato scientifico della SISAm, con il riferimento a due parole chiave e una specificazione cronologica. L’intervento dovrà durare massimo 20 minuti. Il comitato scientifico della SISAm si riserva di creare panel ad hoc in cui inserire le proposte sulla base degli abstract, delle parole chiave e delle tematiche indicate dai proponenti. Il comitato scientifico della SISAm indicherà altresì un moderatore dei panel.
- Nel caso dei Poster la proposta dovrà contenere il nome e cognome del proponente con un breve curriculum di 1000 battute, il titolo del poster e un breve abstract di massimo 1000 battute. La dimensione definitiva del poster dovrà essere del formato di 70×100 (entrambe le direzioni), contenere il logo SISAm e riportare: autori, istituzioni di appartenenza, titolo poster.

Instructions for submission of proposals
Applications for participation may be submitted for proposals of pre-structured panels, individual contributions (papers), and posters via the format available on the SISAm’s, website www.storiaambientale.it.
Submissions should be sent to: convegnosisam2026@gmail.com by 30th March 2026.
In detail:
Proposals of pre-structured Panels must include:
a) name and surname of the proposer;
b) short title;
c) abstract (max. 3,000 characters);
d) content of the individual presentations, a minimum of three and a maximum of four contributions with the titles and names of the authors;
e) the proposer’s CV (max. 1,500 characters); participants’ biographical notes (max. 500 characters).
The application also must indicate:
— the relevance of the proposed contribution, related to the research themes proposed by the scientific committee (see below);
— two keywords, and chronological specification.
SISAm will appoint a panel moderator. The panel will last 90 minutes, with the internal timing decided by the proposer, providing at least 30 minutes for discussion.
Proposals for individual contributions (Papers) must contain:
a) Name and Surname of the applicant with a brief CV (max 1,000 characters);
b) title and abstract (max 1,000 characters).
The application must indicate:
— the relevance of the proposed contribution, related to the research themes proposed by the scientific committee (see below);
— two keywords, and chronological specification.
The presentation will last a maximum of 20 minutes. The SISAm scientific committee reserves the right to include the proposals in ad hoc panels on the basis of the abstracts, keywords and research themes indicated by the applicants. The SISAm scientific committee will also appoint a panel moderator.
Proposals for Posters must include:
a) proposer’s first and last name with a brief CV (max. 1,000 characters);
b) title of the poster and a brief abstract (max. 1,000 characters.);
c) final size of the poster must be 70×100 (both directions);
d) it shall contain the SISAm logo and include authors, affiliated institutions, poster title.
