Segnaliamo una call for papers per la conferenza internazionale “Environmental Anomalies & Political Legitimacy in Global Eurasia, 12th-14th century” in programma il 10-11 novembre 2025 presso l’Università di Napoli “L’Orientale”.
This 2-day conference, hosted by the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (MIUR-funded), examines the key Chinese political philosophy concept of “abnormal phenomena and political legitimacy” within a 12th-14th century Eurasian context, marked by Mongol conquests and extensive cultural exchange.
The conference seeks paper proposals analyzing and comparing theoretical, historical, and literary accounts of abnormal meteorological, natural, or animal phenomena and their relation to political legitimacy.
It aims to gather historians and scholars from cultural and historical studies, working with various sources (chronicles, treatises, religious texts, fiction, poetry) across 12th-14th century Eurasia (China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, Central Asia, Persia, Islamic world, Russia, Byzantium, Europe).
